About Us

For foreign colleagues working in Uppsala.

Over the last years many doctors have come to Sweden to work from countries in Europe and elsewhere. It is a great resource for Swedish healthcare to attract doctors from abroad. However, many new colleagues lack the social connections and are left with a wide spectrum of questions unanswered.

The Swedish Medical Association is the union and professional organisation for medical practitioners. Almost 90% of the doctors working in Sweden are members of the organisation. Before becoming a specialist, you will belong to the Swedish Junior Doctors’ Association (SYLF), which organises doctors who are completing their internship and specialist training (residency).

The local branch in Uppsala is active and can readily answer your questions or assist you regarding professional matters. To join or for further information, please follow this link.
